Privacy Policy

Last updated 3 June 2026

EOFYmate respects your privacy. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your rights under the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

The short version

The tax figures you type — your income, deductions and the rest — are processed in your browser to show your estimate. We deliberately do not send your income figures to our servers, and we never store your card details. The only personal information we collect is the name and email you give us when you unlock the paid tool.

What we collect

  • Account / purchase details: your name and email address, provided when you unlock full access.
  • Payment information: handled entirely by our payment processor, Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
  • Saved progress: your slider inputs and advisor answers are stored locally in your browser (localStorage) so a refresh doesn't lose your work. Your income figures are excluded from anything saved to disk.
  • Technical data: standard server and security logs (e.g. IP address, browser type) kept by our hosting provider to operate and protect the service.

How we use it

  • To provide the tool and unlock paid access for you.
  • To email your receipt and “restore access” links.
  • To notify us of new sign-ups and to provide support.
  • To keep the service secure and to comply with our legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

Who we share it with

We use a small number of trusted providers purely to run the service:

  • Stripe — payment processing (privacy policy).
  • Resend — sending transactional email (receipts, restore links).
  • Vercel — website hosting and security.
  • Upstash — secure storage of unlock records (your email and purchase reference, so you can restore access).

Some of these providers may process data outside Australia. We only use reputable providers with appropriate safeguards.

Cookies and local storage

We use your browser's local storage to remember your progress and whether you've unlocked the tool. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

Security and retention

We use industry-standard measures (encryption in transit, restricted access) to protect your information, and keep it only as long as needed to provide the service and meet legal and tax record-keeping requirements. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.

Your rights

You can ask us to access, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, or ask a question about this policy, by emailing hello@eofymate.com.au. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.

Children

EOFYmate is intended for adults managing their own tax and is not directed at children under 16.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The “last updated” date above shows when it last changed. Material changes will be reflected here.
